Andre Ayew disappointed by Gomis’ departure

Gomis' departure upsets Andre Ayew

The Ghana international said he misses his best friend, Bafetimbi Gomis.

Fenerbahce’s forward Andre Ayew made a few remarks about the Super Lig title race and his team’s chances this season.

Speaking about Bafetimbi Gomis’ transfer to Saudi Arabia, he said;

“I was disappointed by Gomis’ departure because my best friend left. We are very close, he’s like my brother. I respect him very much and he respects me. I talked with him about the transfer. Gomis loved Galatasaray and he was very popular here. He had to leave and so he left. I wanted to play in a derby against him. But God knows what’s best for us. Of course, his departure will make Galatasaray weaker. This gives us an advantage in the title race.”

He continued to talk about Fener’s aim of winning the league title.

“We will do everything we can to become champions and get that fourth star. This season will be long. We have league, cup and European games. Europa League will also not be easy. We will work hard for our goals. As I said before, we’re doing everything we can to win titles, cups. We want our supporters to back us during the bad days and the good days.”

Ayew joined the Yellow Canaries on a season-long loan from Welsh club Swansea City in August.
