Portuguese star Pepe keeping his promise

The Portuguese defender gave Besiktas the lead during their 2-1 win against Malatyaspor.

Following Besiktas’ win against Malatyaspor in the fifth week of Super Lig action, defender Pepe spoke to reporters in the mixed zone.

“I’m very happy with my goals. I’m scoring goals and I’m being useful for my team. I’m trying to learn and listen carefully. I’m fully focussed during training. When I first met with Besiktas, I said I can play for another 2 years and now I’m keeping my promise,” he said.

The Portuguese star scored his third goal of the season against Malatyaspor on Saturday evening, catching up to Ryan Babel, who also has three to his name.

Besiktas are currently 3rd with 10 points, two behind leaders Galatasaray.
