Former Turkish midfielder Mehmet Aurelio has jumped into the managerial world with his first appointment at a fourth-tier Turkish club.

Mehmet Aurelio has taken charge of the first team duties at Corum Belediyespor.

The news was announced by the club on their social media platforms.

The small club, founded in 1997, play in the 3.Lig (Third League) which is the fourth-tier of Turkish football.

Aurelio, a Turkish citizen and former international of Brazilian origin, has signed on to take charge of the team until the end of the season.

The 40-year-old is a well known name in Turkey, having spent several years in the Super Lig playing for clubs such as Trabzonspor, Fenerbahce and Besiktas during his playing days.
