Akhisarspor outclassed by Sevilla 6-0

Akigo were no match for an experienced Sevilla side who managed to score six times against them.

Turkish minnows Akhisarspor had a night to forget after they were outclassed 6-0 by Spanish outfit Sevilla on Thursday evening in their Europa League Group J match.

It didn’t take long for the home side to take the lead as they went 1-0 up in the 7th minute through Roque Mesa. Just three minutes later, in the 9th minute, they found the back of the net again via Pablo Sarabia who scored from a penalty kick.

Things went from bad to worse in the 35th minute when Akhisarspor goalkeeper Lukac fumbled the ball back into his own net after saving a bicycle kick from Sevilla’s Quincy Promes.

The goals continued in the second half much to the dismay of Akhisarspor fans.

Luis Muriel got on the scoresheet in the 50th minute after which Quincy Promes also bagged a goal for himself in the 60th minute.

Sevilla’s Gabriel Mercado scored the final goal of the night in the 67th minute to make the score 6-0.

The result leaves the Turkish club, who are making their debut in Europe this season, last in 4th place in their group.

Sevilla moves into first place while FC Krasnodar takes second and Standard Liege takes 3rd despite all three clubs tied with 6 points each.
