Trabzonspor goalkeeper Esteban wants out

Costa Rican goalkeeper Esteban wants Trabzonspor exit

The Costa Rican international is fed up with being overlooked and is pushing for a transfer away from the Turkish club.

Trabzonspor goalkeeper Esteban Alvarado has publicly expressed his unhappiness with his lack of playing time at the club.

The 29-year-old spoke to Costa Rican press and made it clear he wishes to leave the club permanently, preferably during the January transfer period.

“There have been a lot of changes at the club. The coach who brought me to Turkey, the president, they’ve all been replaced. Because of this, I haven’t found much opportunity to wear the uniform. But I want to play. I want to play regularly and return to the national team,” he explained.

“There are some talks but nothing concrete. I have to wait for them to meet with the club. I’ll see where I can go. I want to go to a league where I can play and enjoy myself. Going back to Holland is not out of the question.”

The experienced goalkeeper move to Trabzonspor from AZ Alkmaar on a free transfer back in the summer of 2015, however, he has found himself essentially frozen out of the first team.

He has made just one appearance so far this season, in the Turkish Cup, and is yet to feature in the Super Lig.
