The Turkish international has re-joined the club he left eleven years ago.

Burak Yilmaz has transferred to Besiktas from Trabzonspor, completing his widely anticipated move on Friday. The move was confirmed by both clubs today.

He has penned a two-and-a-half year deal worth €2 million per season with his new club. According to the information provided to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), Besiktas have paid Trabzonspor 8,429,708 Turkish Lira (approximately €1.3 million) for the transfer.

Trabzonspor still owe the player wages, however, from previous months and according to the statement released by the club, they have reached a deal to re-pay their former striker the amount owed, €1,705,000, in three installments.

The veteran striker has returned to the club he left 11 years ago. His first stint with The Black Eagles was between July 2006 and January 2008.

In a statement statement published on his Twitter account on Friday, Yilmaz said he is thankful to manager Senol Gunes and Besiktas officials for making the transfer happen.

“I acknowledge respectfully all Besiktas fans’ praise and criticism towards me. I want all the fans to know that the second I put on Besiktas jersey on me, I will perform at the highest for Besiktas,” the statement read.

The 33-year-old has joined his new teammates in Antalya today where they are carrying out their mid-season training camp during the winter break.

The Turkish international is one of the few players to have played for all of the major Super Lig clubs, Galatasaray, Fenerbahce, Besiktas and Trabzonspor.
