Trabzonspor release veteran goalkeeper Kivrak

The Black Sea Storm have terminated the goalkeeper’s contract as of today.

Trabzonspor have parted ways with their veteran goalkeeper Onur Kivrak, the club announced on Monday via their offical website.

The decision to end the player’s contract, which was set to expire in June 2020, has been made by mutual consent, according to the club.

The news was also posted on the Istanbul Stock Exchange (KAP) as required by law.

Trabzonspor will pay the €3 million in wages it owes Kivrak in installments.

“Our contract with Onur Recept Kivrak has been terminated by mutual consent. We thank Onur Recep Kivrak for everything he has given to our club and wish him success in the next stage of his life,” the statement read.

The 31-year-old has ended an 11-year period with the club, having joined Trabzonspor in January 2008 from Karsiyaka.

The former Turkish international has been linked with a move to Besiktas, the club his former teammate Burak Yilmaz joined last week.
