Fenerbahce omit Benzia from squad list

Fenerbahce omit Benzia, Cigerci from squad list

The Yellow Canaries have submitted their list of players for the remainder of the season but have omitted two big names.

Fenerbahce’s squad list has been submitted to the Turkish Football Federation (TFF) for the rest of the season. Midfielders Yassine Benzia and Tolga Cigerci have been omitted from the list which means they are not eligible to play in any of Fenerbahce’s remaining league games.

Benzia, who joined the Turkish club on a season-long loan from Lille prior to the start of the season, has not been included in the 28-player squad.

The Algerian made 22 appearances for Fenerbahce this season before finding himself on the fringes at the Istanbul giants.

Injury-prone Tolga Cigerci has also been removed from the squad and will not play for the club for the rest of the season.

The players who have been registered by Fenerbahce are;

Volkan Demirel, Harun Tekin, Andre Ayew, Islam Slimani, Michael Frey,
Jailson, Mehmet Topal, Ismail Koybasi, Sener Ozbayrakli, Hasan Ali Kaldirim,
Mehmet EKici, Oguz Guctekin, Victor Moses, Miha Zajc, Serdar Aziz, Sadik Ciftpinar,
Alper Potuk, Mahsun Capkan, Burak Albayrak, Tolgay Arslan, Deniz Yilmaz,
Martin Skrtel, Roman Neustaedter, Mathieu Valbuena, Nabil Dirar, Mauricio Isla,
Roberto Soldado, Eljif Elmas.

Youngsters Berke Ozer and Ferdi Kadioglu, who have not been included in the list, are eligible to play for the club due to them being considered as youth players (19 and under).
