Galatasaray’s Maicon joins Al-Nassr on loan

The Brazilian defender has moved to Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Nassr on a 1.5-year loan.

Galatasaray have loaned their center-back Maicon Roque to Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia, the Turkish club confirmed on their official website on Tuesday.

The 30-year-old will spend the rest of the 2018/2019 season as well as the entire 2019/2020 season with the Saudi Arabian club, who have paid Galatasaray a €1.7 million loan fee. In addition, they will cover the player’s wages for the duration of the loan.

After signing three new foreigner players last month, Galatasaray’s coaching staff had to remove one player from their first team due to the rule limiting Super Lig teams to 14 foreign players. Coach Fatih Terim made the decision to omit Maicon as he was deemed surplus to first team requirements.

Maicon featured in 22 games for Galatasaray during which he scored 1 goal.

His contract with The Lions runs until June 2021.
