Galatasaray defender Marcao wanted in Spain

The Brazilian centre-back has attracted suitors from Spain with his performances since his transfer in January.

Galatasaray defender Marcao’s performances have garnered interest from La Liga’s Atletico Madrid, who are reported to be keeping tabs on the the 22-year-old.

The Spanish club are looking for a replacement for 32-year-old Diego Godin whose contract expires at the end of the season and Marcao is one of the names they are said to be interested in.

Marcao joined Galatasaray from Portuguese side Chaves for €4 million in January and has quickly established himself as a first team regular.

His contract with The Lions runs until the summer of 2022.
