Malatyaspor drop two players

The club’s coaching staff have excluded Murat Akca and Ertac Ozbir from the first team.

Super Lig outfit Malatyaspor have excluded two of their players, defender Murat Akca and goalkeeper Ertac Ozbir, from the first team for the time being, the club announced on their official Twitter account on Monday.

Murat, who joined the club in the summer of 2018 from second division minnows Elazigspor, has featured in 15 games so far during which he made 1 assist.

Ertac, on the other hand, made 12 appearances for Malatyaspor during which he conceded 12 goals. The Turkish goalkeeper was linked with a move to Besiktas during the January transfer window.

“As a result of the meeting between our Board of Directors and our technical staff and with consideration of the report provided by our technical committee, our professional football players Murat Akca and Ertac Ozbir have been left out of the squad,” the club said.

The club started the season strong but have been hit by a run of defeats which has seen them drop points and find themselves in 6th place with 34 points after 25 games.
