Trabzonspor’s Nwakaeme earns €100K bonus

Anthony Nwakaeme triggers €100k bonus clause

The Nigerian winger has triggered a bonus clause in his contract that sees him receive a €100,000 bonus.

It is safe to say, without a doubt, that Trabzonspor would not be in contention for a Europa League qualification spot this season without the goal-scoring ability of their Nigerian winger Anthony Nwakaeme. His consistent performances and goal scoring ability have earned him €100,000 thanks to a bonus clause in his contract.

The 30-year-old has been their best player this season ever since transferring from Israeli outfit Hapoel Beer Sheva last summer.

After helping The Black Sea Storm come back from a goal down to win 2-1 against Malatyaspor on Saturday, April 20 by scoring a goal and contributing an assist, Nwakaeme has activated a €100,000 bonus clause in his contract.

As per the clause, the player is to receive the hefty sum if he manages to score 19 goals this season.

Immediately after the game ended, the Nigerian was praised by the club’s president, Ahmet Agaoglu, who said he deserved the €100,000 bonus.

Nwakaeme is currently on a goal-scoring streak, having scored 6 goals in his last 5 league appearances for the club.

Along with his teammate Hugo Rodallega, the duo have scored 23 of the 52 goals the team have scored this season thus far.
