Galatasaray coach Hasan Sas suspended for 8 games

The Turkish coach has been handed a heavy suspension for his unsportsmanlike behavior during a Super Lig game.

Galatasaray coach Hasan Sas, known for his fiery temper, has been handed a 8-match suspension by the Professional Football Disciplinary Board (PFDK) on Thursday for unsportsmanlike conduct and attacking a security personnel during Galatsaray’s Super Lig fixture against Istanbul Basaksehir earlier this month.

In addition to the suspension, Sas has been fined 31,200 Turkish Lira (TL).

The incident took place during Galatasaray’s home game against Istanbul Basaksehir on May 19, 2019, in the 33rd week of the Super Lig, which was the game that decided the champion of the 2018-2019 season of the Super Lig.

Galatasaray administrator Sukru Hander has also been fined for hurling insults and attacks against their rivals. He has been fined 150,000 TL and stripped of his rights as a Galatasaray official for 60 days.
