Italian club Lecce bid for Bursaspor defender

Italian club Lecce bid for Bursaspor defender Ertugrul Ersoy

The Italian football club are keen on signing the Turkish defender.

Bursaspor defender Ertugrul Ersoy is on his way to Italian football club Lecce.

The newly promoted to Serie A club have offered Bursaspor €1.4 million including bonuses for the Turkish defender, who has agreed to the terms presented by the Italian club’s officials.

The 22-year-old has accepted a four-year contract with Lecce and is joining a growing number of Turkish players plying their trade in Italian football, including Hakan Calhanoglu, Cengiz Under and Merih Demiral.

The central defender, capable of playing as a stopper, libero or a right-back, made 30 appearances for Bursaspor this past season during which the team suffered the embarrassment of being relegated from the Turkish Super Lig, becoming the first ever title-winning side to be relegated from the country’s top flight.

Lecce are reported to have also been interested in the services of veteran striker Burak Yilmaz but the player’s preference to reman with Besiktas has put off any transfer moves.
