Trabzonspor won’t sell players ‘even for €160m’

Trabzonspor won't sell players even for €160m

The club’s president has confirmed midfielder duo Yusuf Yazici and Abdulkadir Omur will remain with the team.

Trabzonspor’s talented midfielders Yusuf Yazici and Abdulkadir Omur will remain with the team for at least another season, according to the club’s president Ahmet Agaoglu.

The Turkish businessman spoke about a variety of topics at the club’s Board of Directors meeting in Trabzon where he addressed the transfer speculation regarding the team’s two midfielders.

Despite being linked with clubs from Europe since last year, Trabzonspor have no intention of selling their prized assets this summer, even for “€160 million”.

“Our young players are the heroes which save our club’s economy. They changed the way people view football in the country. Our club’s debt is €160 million. I told Monaco and Lille, ‘even if you give me this money, I will not sell you Yusuf and Abdulkadir’. We will not sell Yusuf and Abdulkadir as ordinary players. They are this country’s most valuable players. To sell them would be to betray Turkish football,” the club’s president said as he addressed the crowd.

The two midfielders have been tracked by multiple clubs in the past and despite much speculation, no transfer has taken place and it seems it will remain that way for at least another season.
