Trabzonspor have spent just €1.8m on transfers. Trabzonspor Transfers 2019

The Black Sea Storm have reduced their spending on transfers in an attempt to stabilize their worsening financial woes.

Trabzonspor are leading the pack in Turkish football when it comes to getting the most for their money. The Northeastern Turkish club have reduced their spending during the transfer window this summer. The club’s management have spent just €1,860,000 on new players.

Realizing that the club, like all Turkish football clubs, cannot continue to spend money recklessly, Trabzonspor have changed their transfer policy under current chairman Ahmet Agaoglu.

To date, the club have made a total of 13 transfer under Agaoglu’s leadership including Ekuban for whose transfer they paid €1 million.

The average age of the transfers brought in to reinforce the club is 21.5-years, which is one of the lowest in the league considering most Super Lig clubs generally tend to sign older players.

In addition to this, Trabzonspor have opted to either make deals which would exclude player agent fees or pay very small sums.

The club decided to part ways with multiple high-earners in order to balance the books.

Striker Hugo Rodallega, who has made the switch to newly promoted Denizlispor, and recently released midfielder Olcay Sahan were both paid €1.7 million per year in wages while Iranian midfielder Vahid Amiri was on a €700,000 annual salary. The Iranian was also sold last month to Iranian outfit Persepolis for €150,000.

These three players alone were taking up €4.1 million of the club’s wage budget alone. On the other hand, the team’s 12 new transfers, with the exclusion of Ekuban, are being paid €3,867,000. In other words, the club has decreased the amount they spend on wages while increasing their squad size with more players.

Below are the list of player’s that have arrived at Trabzonspor and their transfer fees under the guidance of chairman Ahmet Agaoglu.
