Trabzonspor in talks with Stoke City midfielder Badou Ndiaye

The Black Sea Storm are keen on signing Senegalese midfielder Badou Ndiaye from Stoke City during the winter break transfer period.

Following Trabzonspor’s 6-2 thriller against Kayserispor on Saturday, Trabzonspor Vice President Mehmet Yigit Alp spoke to members of the press to address several matters including their transfer plans for the upcoming transfer period in January.

When asked about the club’s transfer plans during the winter break, Alp revealed they are interested in Championship side Stoke City’s central midfielder Badou Ndiaye.

“Ndiaye is a player who is in our list. We spoke with him. There is a process and that process in progress. In order to make transfers we need to create a budget. We need to have a source. Without having a source, we cannot make any transfers,” the club’s vice president explained.

“When we have the ability, we will try to add players to our squad according to the request of the technical staff. As it is known, we have one slot available for a foreign player. We’ll see what we can do according to the circumstances,” he said.

The 29-year-old is no stranger to Turkish football having played for Osmanlispor and Galatasaray before transferring to the English club for £14 million in January 2018 from Galatasaray.
