Ryan Babel’s agent confirms Ajax transfer link

The Dutch winger is wanted by his former club Ajax, according to his agent.

Galatasaray winger Ryan Babel could be on his way out the door and back to his boyhood club Ajax.

The 33-year-old has recently been heavily linked with a move to Amsterdam Arena, where his professional football career began.

The initial reports have come from TheNetherland’s news outlet De Telegraaf but the rumours have now been confirmed by the player’s agent, Winny Haatrecht, who said Ajax are considering an initial six-month loan.

Babel is also willing to forego a part of his salary at Galatasaray and reduce his wage demands if it will help facilitate the transfer for both clubs, Haatrecht said. Sources close to Galatasaray have confirmed the player’s transfer hinges on Galatasaray’s request of a transfer fee for the player as they seek to boost their coffers in order to raise funds for new transfers.

The player’s agent also revealed that Newcastle United are also interested in signing the player on a short-term deal.

The Dutch international, who has failed to impress Galatasaray’s management since his arrival before the beginning of the season, is reported to be interested in returning to the Eredivisie.

He is contracted to Galatasaray until June 2022 but the club’s administration are reportedly trying to offload the winger.
