Dutch winger Ryan Babel joins Galatasaray

The Dutch international, and two other new signings, will play for The Lions next season.

Galatasaray have announced the signing of Dutch winger Ryan Babel on Friday via their official social media accounts.

The Turkish club also confirmed the transfer on Turkey’s Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), revealing that the player inked a three-year contract and will earn €2.5 million per season.

Galatasaray have also paid Babel €2 million as a signing bonus.

Babel spent half of the 2018-2019 season with Fulham FC after joining them from Besiktas in the January transfer window.

However, his return to the Super Lig will see him play for Besiktas’ heated rivals, Galatasaray during the 2019-2020 season.

The winger arrived in Istanbul on Friday and passed his medical before being confirmed a Cim Bom player in the late afternoon.

Galatasaray have also announced the transfer of Adem Buyuk from Yeni Malatyaspor on Friday. The 31-year-old Turkish player inked a two-year contract with the Super Lig champions.

Buyuk will earn 3.5 million Turkish Lira (TL) for the 2019-2020 season and 4 million TL for the second year of his contract.

Nigerian youngster Valentine James Ozornwafor’s transfer, as was widely reported in recent weeks, was also announced on Friday.

The 20-year-old defender has signed a four-year contract with Galatasaray, who paid €300,000 to his former club Enyimba FC for the transfer.

The young Nigerian is highly-rated by Galatasaray.

The promising talent will earn a guaranteed wage packet of €575,000 for the four years he remains with the club.

Ozornwafor’s salary for each season will be as follows;

2019/2020 – €100,000
2020/2021 – €125,000
2021/2022 – €150,000
2022/2023 – €200,000

Meanwhile, Galatasaray are also in talks to sign Argentinian midfielder Ever Banega and Swedish midfielder Jimmy Durmaz.

Banega’s agent is reported as claiming the player has reached an agreement in principle with the Turkish champions.

Durmaz, on the other hand, has accepted Galatasaray’s latest offer of €2 million per season, which includes a signing bonus, and will sign a three-year contract with the club, according to reports from France.

The Swedish player of Turkish origin had hinted at a move to Turkey in recent times on his social media accounts, posting images of a Turkish flag and an airplane with the word “soon” between them.
