The Brazilian recently joined the Black Eagles from Alanyaspor.
Vagner Love gave an interview at the signing ceremony held in Besiktas’s Vodafone Park stadium prior to a busy schedule for last season’s Super Lig champions.
The Brazilian striker was asked a serious of questions and below are quotes from his answers:
“I need to score goals to help my friends. To this day I haven’t set a goals target. However, whenever I score a goal it’s always to help my team and teammates.”
“First up, we have a match with Konya. We have to think per match. Friday will be a difficult match for us. At the moment we aren’t thinking about Bayern or Fenerbahce. All of our preparations are for this match now. We will start thinking about Bayern Munich after our match against Konyaspor.”
The experienced footballer added to his answers by answering questions about competition between himself and other strikers in the team;
“There is absolutely no competition between me and Alvaro Negredo. If there is a competition, it will be for the benefit of Besiktas. I will try to help our team, to help our selves individually. Whether I play, Negredo plays or Larin plays, it will be Besiktas who wins in the end.
After being asked about Ricardo Quaresma, he had this to say;
“He was one of the people who welcomed me here the best way. Off the field, we get along well. We speak the same language. It will definitely help us to get used to each other on the field.”
Vagner wrapped up the interview by speaking of his impression about the Super Lig;
“The big teams are competing against one another. The other teams are also showing their qualities. I think this competition will go on until the final week.”.
