Atinc Nukan to have surgery again

Besiktas defender Atinc Nukan is set for another surgery after a re-occurring injury won’t leave him alone.

Atinc Nukan will be under the knife once again to fix a serious knee injury. The defender had surgery in the beginning of the season, back in August, to repair the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. The operation took place in Germany but the club have announced he will need to be operated on again after medical examinations have found there is loose space due to loosening of the ligament.

Besiktas have released a statement addressing the matter;

“Our player, who was operated on in Germany due to anterior cruciate ligament tear in the left knee in the beginning of August, will undergo another operation due to loose space due to loosening of the ligament in the knee during the last operation of Atinc Nukan.”

This time, the 24-year-old will have surgery in Turkey, in Acibadem Fulya Hospital today. The surgeon performing the operation will be Dr. Sarper Cetinkaya, an expert in the field of arthroscopic surgeries.

Nukan has been on loan at RB Leipzig for the 2017-18 season and has a contract with Besiktas until June 30th, 2020.
