Emre Can set to miss Champions League final

Emre Can to miss Champions League final

Emre can could have played his final game for Liverpool after his latest injury.

German international Emre Can, currently in his final months with Liverpool, is doubtful for the Champions League final after the latest medical scans revealed bad news for both player and club.

Liverpool’s midfielder Emre Can is out of contract at the end of the season, and is widely expected to move on for free this summer with Juventus being his next employer.

The German is currently out with a back injury and a scan on Monday came back inconclusive, according to the British press.

It means he could well miss Liverpool’s date with destiny, their Champions League final clash against Real Madrid on May 26.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s defeat to Chelsea at the weekend, Red boss Klopp spoke of how important the scan could prove to be.

He said: “He has done a lot of things and it feels really good but in the end you always need a doctor to tell you, ‘now it’s fine, now you can go again’.That’s the situation. I think he will have a scan and then we will know more. “It would be good news for the final.”

But now, the inconclusive result will mean further test are required, which could kill off any hope Can has of playing against the Galacticos of Real Madrid.
