Besiktas fail with initial offer for Japanese full-back Gotoku Sakai

The Black Eagles are in full-swing with their transfer dealings and are actively looking to sign players, the latest being Gotoku Sakai.

Besiktas have made contract offer to Japanese full-back Gotoku Sakai however the player has turned down the initial deal.

Sakai’s contract expires next month and is a free agent, meaning no transfer fee will be involved.

Besiktas have offered the player’s representatives €1.5 million per year for 3 years.

The 27-year-old’s agent has asked for €2.5 million per year in addition to a €2 million signing bonus.

The Super Lig giants finished 4th this past season, which means they will miss out on Champions League football.

Negotiations are ongoing and a decision is expected in the coming days.
