Goztepe hire Bayram Bektas to replace Tuna

Izmir based Goztepe football club have hired Bayram Bektas as their new manager.

Turkish Super Lig side Goztepe have appointed Bayram Bektas as the man to take charge of first team duties.

The announcement was made by the club on their website and the signing ceremony was held today in the club’s facilities in Izmir.

This will be Bektas’ first stint as manager in Turkey’s top flight. His previous job was at Umraniyespor, who play in Turkey’s second division, 1.Lig (First League).

He finished 4th with the small team this past season and missed out on automatic promotion by just 4 points.

The 44-year-old will be replacing Tamer Tuna, who parted ways with Goztepe after having disagreements with the club’s president regarding the direction of the club was headed in.
