Matej Mitrovic returns to Besiktas from Belgium

Matej Mitrovic has returned to Besiktas after spending last season on loan with Belgian outfit Club Brugge.

The Belgian club are reported to be keen on signing the player on loan for next season once again however the Black Eagles would like to keep him with the first team due to the sale of Serbian defender Dusko Tosic.

The 24-year-old signed for the Turkish club in the winter transfer window of 2016/17 from Croatian club Rijeka. However, he was loaned out the following season after not being able to secure a regular first-team place.

Besiktas president Fikret Orman praised the player and said he is in the team’s plans for next season;

“Mitrovic had a good season in Belgium. He will be one of our important players next season, we have no intention of selling him.”
