Henry Onyekuru: Working with Terim is a privelege

Galatasaray’s latest signing Henry Onyekuru spoke highly of Fatih Terim during an interview with beIN Sports.

Henry Onyekuru spoke to reporters about his move to the Super Lig club earlier today. The young forward praised his new coach and said he was looking forward to this chapter in his career.

The 21-year-old also mentioned Ligue 1 club PSG, with whom he as close to signing.

“To work with Fatih Terim is a big privilege,” he said regarding his new coach.

“I started my football career at 13 in Nigeria. I was discovered by a group for Qatar and I went there. It was a good start for me. I received school and football training for five years.”

“I had a chance. At Eupen, there were a lot of good players. I got to where I am by working with them and their help. I couldn’t do this alone of course.”

“Before signing for Everton, I passed a medical with PSG, that’s true. PSG is a big club but my dream was to play in the Premier League. I decided to sign for Everton at 12 o’clock midnight. There’s a foreign player rule in the Premier League regarding national team appearances, which didn’t allow me to obtain a work permit. So, I transferred to Anderlecht to get experience.”

“Success is not achieved alone. If it wasn’t for the players I played alongside with, the coaches who helped me, I wouldn’t have gotten to where I am.”
