Besiktas defender Mitrovic signs for Club Brugge

The Croatian defender has been sold to the Belgian club.

Besiktas have parted ways with Croatian defender Matej Mitrovic. The Super Lig giants sold the 24-year-old to Club Brugge for €3.9 million.

Mitrovic, who spent part of last season on loan with the Belgian outfit, asked the Turkish club’s management to sell him after making it clear he wished to return to Belgium.

Brugge paid €400,000 to take the defender on loan for the second half of the previous campaign.

The player is set to sign after passing a medical in Belgium.

Besiktas signed the Croatian for €4.2 million from HNK Rijeka in January 2017 but failed to live up to expectations.
