Alanyaspor loan Merih Demiral from Sporting CP

Young defender Merih Demiral has returned to Turkey on a year-long loan.

Alanyaspor have added Merih Demiral to their squad. The Super Lig side have signed the young defender on a season-long loan from Portuguese club Sporting CP.

The agreement between the two clubs includes a clause that would allow the transfer to be made permanent in exchange for €3.5 million.

The 20-year-old, a Fenerbahce youth academy product, moved to Sporting CP for €200,000 from another Portugese club, Alcanenense.

The player was presented by Alanyaspor president Hasan Cagusoglu who said he believes the youngster will have a good season with his new club.

Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce were rumoured to be interested in re-signing their former player but Alanyaspor have beaten them to the player’s signature.
