Marco Fabian says Fenerbahce broke promise

The Mexican star was on the verge of signing for the Yellow Canaries last month.

Marco Fabian has spoken publicly about his failed transfer to Super Lig powerhouse Fenerbahce last month.

The 29-year-old was in Istanbul at the end of August and posed for cameras with a Fenerbahce scarf, signaling his intention to join the Turkish club.

However, the move broke down in the final moments which lead to Fenerbahce claiming it was due to the player’s back injury.

The Eintracht Frankfurt player has spoken out, for the first time, denying the claims and says the move didn’t materialize due to broken promises.

“It was all agreed on the week prior but just 5 minutes before I was to sign they made changes which I did not agree to. It was about money and bonuses. My back is healthy, it was not the issue,” he said to German press.

The attacking midfielder has remained with the Bundesliga club since the transfer broke down.
