Besiktas interested in Mario Gomez

Besiktas want German striker Mario gomez

The Black Eagles have made the German striker a transfer target in January.

Besiktas are in dire need of an experienced goalscorer after parting ways with Spanish forward Alvaro Negredo. With the aging Vagner Love and inexperienced Cyle Larin as their only strikers, the club have looked towards a familiar face to solve their forward issue, at least temporarily; Mario Gomez.

Club president Fikret Orman is a huge fan of the German striker and has made signing him one of his top agendas in the winter transfer window.

The club will try to sign the player on a loan initially for the second-half of the Super Lig season.

The 33-year-old is currently playing for his boyhood club, Vfb Stuttgart, but is reported to be open to a move back to Istanbul.

Besiktas fans have fond memories of the prolific goalscorer, who spent the 2015/2016 season with the club where he scored 28 goals in 41 games.
