Fenerbahce draw against Anderlecht in Europa League

The Yellow Canaries managed to come back from two goals down to salvage a draw against Anderlecht in the Europa League on Thursday evening.

Super Lig giants Fenerbahce had to settle for a hard-earned draw against Belgian side Anderlecht in their Europa League Group D clash on Thursday.

Anderlecht forward Zakaria Bakkali gave the home side the lead in the 35th minute and doubled it in the 50th minute with a fine strike.

Fenerbahce pegged one back almost immediately via Swiss striker Michael Frey in the 53rd minute.

The equalizer came in the 57th minute via full-back Hasan Ali Kaldirim who outsmarted an opposition player in the box with a feint and put it past the home side’s goalkeeper to make the score 2-2.

The game continued with both teams pushing for a winner but ultimately neither could find another goal.

The result sees Fenerbahce take second place in their Group D while Dinamo Zagreb moves up to first. Spartak Trnava moves into the third spot while Anderlecht is placed fourth.
