Besiktas president: We will pay Karius’ transfer fee

Besiktas will pay for Loris Karius' transfer fee

The Black Eagles are keen on making Loris Karius’ loan permanent.

Besiktas will sign German goalkeeper Loris Karius outright, according to the club’s president Fikret Orman.

Speaking to reports on Friday regarding the clubs transfer deals, Orman said the club will sign the goalkeeper permanently.

“Karius is a very good goalkeeper. God willing, we will pay his transfer fee. Reports claiming that we will send him back early are nonsense. Of course, we have high expectations of him. When we loaned Aboubakar, they were saying where did we get this guy from? Then, they said we should sign him permanently. So, we know how it is. But he has to work harder. He also has high expectations for himself,” the club’s president explained.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper is currently on a two-year loan from Liverpool, having joined Besiktas in August 2018.
