Fatih Terim to leave Galatasaray at end of season?

The Emperor could walk away from the Super Lig champions at the end of the current campaign.

Earlier this season, in October to be exact, Galatasaray head coach Fatih Terim was reported to have signed a contract extension that would see him tied to the club until 2021.

However, according to the Turkish Football Federation’s website, his contract expires at the end of the current season

In Turkish, the details of the contract point to a May 2019 expiration.

The club’s president had signed the paperwork but it seems Terim himself did not. It has been revealed that the contract was not formalized and it’s only a verbal agreement for now.

There are outlets in Turkey claiming Fatih Terim is not happy with the club’s administration particularly with how they mishandled the Bafetimbi Gomis situation.

After selling last season’s top goalscorer to Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the summer, they failed to bring in a proper replacement which has seen the club play with an inexperienced striker up front for the first half of the season.

Due to the disagreements between the coach and club, he could walk away as a free agent this summer if the issues between them are not resolved.
