Vagner Love left out of squad, set for exit

Vagner Love transfer out of Besiktas due to unpaid wages

The Brazilian forward is very likely the next player to leave the Black Eagles after reports of backroom issues between the club and player.

Besiktas forward Vagner Love has been removed from the first team and is not expected to play for the Turkish club anylonger, according to local reports.

Love was absent from his team’s match squad against Kasimpasa on Saturday evening after Senol Gunes made the decision to not include him in the match squad.

The Brazilian player’s agent had made claims recently that his client has not been receiving his salary which has caused a rift in the dressing room.

He is the latest player to join a growing list of players who have not been receiving their salary due to the club’s financial woes. The now-departed Alvaro Negredo and Pepe were the two previous names who experienced the same issues. Midfielder Tolgay Arslan, who has also been omitted from the first team, is also expected to depart from the club.

According to sources close to Besiktas, the 34-year-old is very likely to leave in January. He will have no shortage of suitors, however, as Corinthians and Santos have been said to be interested in bringing the experienced player back to his native Brazil as well as Bursaspor who are looking for a striker to lead their team into the second half of the season.
