Fenerbahce in talks with Rizespor over striker Vedat Muriqi

The Yellow Canaries want to add Muriqi to their squad.

Caykur Rizespor and Fenerbahce are negotiating over the transfer fee of the former club’s striker Vedat Muriqi, according to Rizespor’s president Hasan Kartal.

The Kosovo striker has caught the eye of many in Turkey with his goal-scoring ability. The tall and powerful forward finished the season as the league’s second highest striker with 17 goals.

Kartal responded to questions from reporters in Turkey regarding the player’s future during which he revealed that transfer talks with Fenerbahce are currently ongoing.

“We haven’t set an exact transfer fee for Vedat Muriqi. There are clubs who want Vedat. I don’t know who we will finish this transfer with but I am talking with Ali Koc,” Kartal revealed.

French club Toulouse is another club who is also keen on Muriqi. The Ligue 1 outfit have sent their sporting director Ali Rashid three times to assess the player and enquire about his availability.

Their latest offer is reported to be €3 million but the striker has made it publicly clear that he wishes to play for Fenerbahce.

Spanish clubs Celta Vigo and Levante are also interested in the player’s services. Representatives of both clubs have asked for meetings with Rizespor’s management in order to discuss a potential transfer.
