Ankaragucu search for new coach amid transfer ban

Ankaragucu search for new coach despite transfer ban, says president mehmet yiginer

The capital-based club are looking at 14 coaches, according to the club’s president Mehmet Yiginer.

After parting ways with their coach, Mustafa Kaplan, over the weekend, Ankaragucu are searching for a new man to take charge of the first team affairs.

Club president Mehmet Yiginer thanked Kaplan, who was brought in on a six-month contract in the second half of the previous season, and wished him well in the future.

“We parted ways with technical director Mustafa Kaplan. He helped us stay up and we thanked him,” Yiginer said.

Reminding the public of the club’s transfer ban currently in place, he said there are 14 coaches the club are considering as Kaplan’s replacement.

“We have a transfer ban. We don’t know when it will be lifted. We told him [Kaplan] to consider any offers he has. We didn’t want to put him in a difficult position. At the moment, there are 14 coaches we are evaluating. However, we are working with a transfer ban. We have postponed the subject of a coach for about one week. We also postponed today’s Board of Directors meeting. Next week, we will begin initiatives on the transfer ban and other issues,” the Super Lig club’s president said.

Meanwhile, Mustafa Kaplan has been announced as Genclebirligi’s new coach for the upcoming season.

Kaplan has been given a one-year contract with the newly promoted Super Lig club.
