Yeni Malatyaspor second qualifying round opponents

The Turkish club will enter the competition in the Second Qualifying Round.

Yeni Malatyaspor are set to take on the winner of the duel between Slovenia’s Olimpija Ljubljana and Latvia’s Rigas in the Second Qualifying Round.

The Turkish club qualified for the competition — after a 16 year absence — by finishing fifth last season.

Club president and spokesperson Erdal Gunduz says he is optimistic about the draw.

“They are teams we can beat. God willing, we will have achieved a lot if we can make it to the group stages. We will play three qualifying rounds. It won’t be easy. Our goal is to go as far as we can and to represent our country in the best way possible,” Gunduz told reporters in Turkey on Wednesday.

The club official also added that they are actively working on bringing in transfers and are in talks with several players.
