Besiktas summer transfer plans revealed

The Black Eagles are planning to make several changes to their squad this summer.

Besiktas’ management is working hard to strengthen their squad this summer. After appointing Abdullah Avci recently, the Super Lig club have consulted with their Turkish coach regarding his transfer wishes.

According to club officials, Avci has told the club’s president, Fikret Orman, he wants midfielders Oguzhan Ozyakup and Jeremain Lens to remain, despite initial reports claiming the players are headed for the door.

New Zealand-born forward Tyler Boyd, who played for Ankaragucu on loan last season, is a player Avci is keen on bringing to Vodafone Park. Avci is known to have tracked the player last season and has been impressed with his performances.

Besiktas are reported to be in advanced talks with Boyd’s parent club, Vitoria Guimares, regarding a transfer this summer.

Sivasspor full-back Douglas is another name linked with a move to Besiktas during this transfer window. Reports in Turkey suggest the Brazilian has reached an agreement with Besiktas on a two-year contract with an annual salary of €1.5 million.

Douglas is scheduled to join up with his new teammates at their summer training camp in Istanbul on July 8.

The Istanbul club are also interested in signing Bursaspor’s Umut Meras. His transfer is expected to take place after Bursaspor’s presidential elections, which are set to take place in the coming days.

After loaning out striker Cyle Larin to Belgian outfit Zulte Waregem for the entirety of next season, Besiktas are also considering sending defender Enzo Roco on loan with a possible destination being his native Chile.
