Bursaspor’s Le Guen optimistic about job

Bursaspor's Paul Le Guen talks about tough times

Bursaspor’s manager Paul Le Guen is under pressure to deliver results as things have not been going their way in recent weeks.

Paul Le Guen, the man in charge of first-team duties at Bursaspor, is having a hard time figuring out why they can’t win in the Super Lig. The team have not won a league game stretching back 6 matches. The only win they’ve recorded this year so far has been the 2-1 home win against Genclerbirligi in the Turkish Cup back on January 16th.

The new year has not started off well for the team as they are still looking for their first Super Lig win. In the last 5 Super Lig matches, they have drawn twice and lost three.

Their next match is against title-chasers Galatasaray, a match that could seal the Frenchman’s faith according to rumors from those close to the club.

Speaking to reporters about the Galatasaray match he had this to say;

“The Galatasaray match will be difficult but by the season’s end, I am hopeful we will move up into the top-half of the table. Of course went through some difficulties. We experienced some tough patches in these recent weeks. We also missed some players. As we lost matches we also lost confidence. I think the quickest way to get back our confidence is to start winning again. We must be productive.”

After being questioned about his job security at the club, the Frenchman said, “I respect everyone and their line of work. But what interests me is what’s on the pitch. I will do whatever it takes to make players go out on the pitch as warriors. My job involves working on the pitch and I’m happy.”

Bursaspor’s management are rumoured to be considering replacing the 53-year-old as the team continues to move further down the table and closer to the relegation zone. The Crocodiles are currently in 11th place with 27 points.
