Vagner Love rejects Adana Demirspor offer

The Brazilian forward has been offered a way out of his predicament with The Black Eagles but has turned down the offer from the second division club.

Besiktas forward Vagner Love has been offered a lucrative deal by Adana Demirspor but has turned them down, according to the 1.Lig club’s president Murat Sancak.

The Turkish club, currently playing in the nation’s second division, are hoping to achieve promotion to the Turkish Super Lig and have spent a considerable amount of money to make their dream a reality, backed by the club’s wealthy businessman acting as their president.

Their approach for the striker was announced on the club’s official website on Wednesday.

“In line with our search for a striker, we made a transfer offer for Vagner Love who is set to part ways with Besiktas. During our talks, the player told us his desire is to leave Turkey and continue his career elsewhere and for this reason we were unable to complete the transfer.

“I would like to thank him for his positive approach during our talks and I wish him success in the next phase of his career,” the statement read.

This is the second high-profile transfer the ambitious club have failed to capitalize on. Earlier this month, the club was close to signing Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder but were ultimately unsuccessful due to the player’s sponsorship obligations in Qatar.
