UEFA inspect Malatyaspor stadium

The Super Lig outfit’s stadium has been given the greenlight ahead of their upcoming qualifiers.

With just one game left to play in the regular season, Malatyaspor have secured qualification for the 2019-2020 season of the Europa League.

The ambitious football club is currently fifth in the Super Lig with 47 points and have guaranteed themselves an entry into the qualification phase of the European competition.

As things stand, Malatyaspor will enter the Europa League in the Third Qualifying Round.

Representatives from UEFA were present in Malatya on Wednesday where they inspected the club’s stadium, Yeni Malatya Stadium, to make sure it meets the necessary requirements in order to host Europa League fixtures.

UEFA inspector Denis Cruise was the official the sport’s governing body sent for the job and was accompanied by several officials from the Turkish Football Federation.

Malatyaspor’s General Secretary Burak Cakir, General Manager Selcuk Gunaydin and Stadium Director Cem Eren were also present as were several other club officials.

The club announced they have been given the “all clear” from UEFA meaning their stadium is eligible to host Europa League games.
