Le Guen: If they tell me to go, I will

Bursaspor continue to under-perform this season in the Turkish Super Lig as they lost 1-0 at home to Kasimpasa earlier today.

Bursaspor fans and management continue to suffer heartbreak as they fell further down the standings after today’s 1-0 loss at home against Istanbul-based Kasimpasa.

The club’s manager, Paul Le Guen, as well as the administration, have come under heavy fire this season for failing to perform. After today’s loss, supporters gathered in front of the club’s facilities and chanted “Administration resign” in protest.

Speaking at the post-match press conference, Le Guen gave his analysis;

“We were penalized for not playing our game. That’s the result of what happened today. We did everything we could to win. We won a lot of balls. We can still be a team that turns things around.”

After being asked for his response to the fans who demand he resigns, the Frenchman responded;

“I’m the last man to give up. I know how much I’m working. I give it my all. My players are putting in all the effort they can. If they tell me to go, I will. I still believe we can turn things around. That is why I will continue to fight until the end.”

The latest loss sees Bursaspor slide down to 13th place with 33 points. Things could get worse for the club as they are just 5 points from the relegation zone and with 6 games left to play, Bursaspor supporters will be hoping their team will start to pick up points.
