Bursaspor sack Paul Le Guen

Bursaspor board unilaterally parted ways with 54-year-old Frenchman Paul Le Guen today, after sub-par performances throughout the season.

Turkish Super Lig team Bursaspor sacked manager Paul Le Guen on Tuesday after the team’s poor performance in recent weeks. The former Rangers manager was hired last summer however his time has been cut short – he lasted just nine months.

The team said talks with Le Guen to reach a mutual agreement to terminate his contract failed, leaving the club with no other option than to sack the 54-year-old Frenchman.

Assistant manager Mustafa Er is expected to take over for the remaining six matches.

On Sunday, Bursaspor lost to Kasimpasa 1-0 at home which was the final nail in the coffin for Le Guen. The Green Crocodiles have lost 7 of their last 11 matches.

It has been reported that Le Guen has received €1,725,000 in compensation for the termination of his contract.
