Bursaspor talks with Newcastle striker Saivet stall

Turkish press from Bursa are claiming the transfer talks to sign Henri Saivet are not going well.

Super Lig outfit Bursaspor may have to look at other options after negotiations to sign Newcastle United midfielder Henri Saivet have stalled.

Earlier this week, reports came out revealing that Saivet is a target for Bursaspor and that the club’s new manager Samet Aybaba wants to be reunited with the Newcastle United outcast.

Saivet and Aybaba were both at Sivasspor last season.

According to the source of the report, it is alleged that the Dakar native has demanded €1.2m a season from Bursaspor but the Turkish club will not meet his demands.

Bursaspor Head of Football Mustafa Er has held talks with Newcastle United over a possible deal for the forward but the English club are looking to sell him rather than loan him out again.

It seems Bursaspor’s pursuit of the Newcastle United player now hangs in the balance but things could change later on in the transfer window.

Last season, the 27-year-old made 12 appearances whilst on loan with Sivasspor and is contracted to Newcastle United until 2021.
