Alanyaspor sue Besiktas over transfer money

Alanyaspor sue Besiktas for transfer money

The resort town club have accused Besiktas of delaying their payments for the transfer of Vagner Love.

Alanyaspor have released a statement hoping to put pressure on Besiktas for not paying the remainder of the transfer fee involving their former striker Vagner Love who signed for the Black Eagles last season.

According to the statement, the Super Lig minnows have initiated the paperwork necessary for a lawsuit against Besiktas, who are yet to pay the remainder of the transfer fee.

Besiktas’ manager of legal affairs, Safak Mahmutyazicioglu, issued a response a few hours after, explaining the club’s situation.

“Up until today, we’ve paid Alanyaspor €1.9 million and the remaining amount owed is €1.1 million. The last payment made was just 1 or 2 days ago. As everyone knows, not just Besiktas but all of the clubs are having difficulties due to the weak exchange rate.

We, as a club, are also waiting for transfer payments from other Anatolian clubs but, of course, knowing the circumstances, we are not going to take action against them.

To give an example from a club abroad, we had delays when dealing with Sunderland to whom we had payments delayed for a few weeks. But they didn’t make statements threatening us with legal action,” he explained.

“Still, we thank Alanyaspor for their patience and understanding they have shown us but we don’t find their action appropriate for such a short delay. We, as clubs, all need to support each other. The payment will be made in the coming week which will automatically terminate the lawsuit claim. Besiktas have paid every club they have done business with and Alanyaspor will also receive their money,” he said.
